How to best maintain a small countertop freezer In addition to respecting the loading lines, there are a few more things you can do in order to optimize the performance of the freezer and keep the energy consumption to a minimum.
Defrost It is a good idea to defrost the countertop freezer every three months or whenever there is more than 3 mm of frost inside the cabinet. You can see the details of how to do this correctly in the user manual.
Cleaning The freezer should, of course, be cleaned periodically inside and outside. You can do this with a cloth and light soap solution and subsequently wiping it dry. Furthermore, the condenser and compressor compartment need to be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and stiff brush in order for the freezer to perform optimally.
Gasket check One of the main parameters that affect the temperature of the freezer, is how often and for how long the door of the freezer is opened. However, if the freezer is placed where customers can open the door themselves, you have no control of this. What you can do, is to check the door gasket and make sure that nothing is preventing the door from sealing correctly, when it is closed. This will help prevent hot air from coming into the cabinet, causing frost to build up.
